World Oceans Day
The World Oceans Day (WOD) 2019 commemoration is to build a greater Ocean and gender
literacy while discovering ways to promote gender equality in ocean-related activities, such as
marine scientific research, fisheries, policy-making and management.
Structure of the conference
The conference will involve a diverse group of people in Tanzania, both scientists and
Non-Scientists, it will bring them together to learn about gender roles in the Sustainable development of our ocean through presentations of the works that had been done and panel
discussion. It will involve female speakers scientist from various sectors who would represent
the roles that are being done by women towards productive and healthy oceans.
Specific Objectives of the conference
? Discussion on women participation towards healthy, sustainable and productive
? To advocate for Gender participation in Ocean Sciences and Informal sectors
related to fisheries
? To celebrate the achievements of the women who have made tremendous
contributions in ocean-related sectors
The world Lakes Oceans and Rivers are the important resources which influence the life of this beautiful world, its said that those close and those far from these sources all of us influence their conditions, as we all reside in catchment areas.
Humans need food, and good living environment but the climate is changing, fish in the natural environment are scares and we have changed these bodies to be dumping sites, with all these 12 brave Aquatic Scientists decided to combat the improper utilization of these resources formation of a Non-Governmental Organization that aims at enhancing proper utilization of aquatic resources, through sustainable aquaculture and rebuilding the fisheries of Tanzania in response of the bring the world that has hunger is a tale with achieved food security, improved nutrition and promote sustainable aquaculture, a better world with favourable CLIMATIC conditions at reduced impacts.
