Sensemaking Tool for African Innovation

The objective of the workshop is both to communicate the tools purpose to relevant stakeholders and to further develop the tool through participative co-creation during the event. The participants will be going through an active learning experience at two different levels: deepening understanding of innovations per se and how the innovations are developed through entrepreneurial activities or other endeavours in East Africa. In practice, in the workshop we will apply the IM-tool to real challenges and related innovations in East African context. The participants will learn to identify relevant factors in the context where innovations are created, understand how innovations should be nurtured, what kind of scaling potential there is, how different types of innovations could be sustained. The participants will get to try out the emerging IM- tool to analyse the complex innovation environments and will have a chance to help develop the tool further through feedback.
