ROLE OF CITIZEN GENERATED DATA

Description

Learning from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the role of citizens and Civil society in development and implementation including the monitoring of the SDGs cannot be understated. Citizen generated data – CGD has the potential to play an important role in monitoring and driving progress on sustainable development at all levels. As the world now enters the last decade in the run-up to attaining the SDGs, the need for more and accurate data is becoming even more urgent. This session brings together governments, development partners and civil society already harnessing CGD in their work. It will allow for a conversation on the importance of CGD and why governments are prioritizing CGD.
